www.deviantart.com/view/179619… was taken directly off of page thirty-two of Burne Hogarth's book "Dynamic Figure Drawing." It got a Daily Deviation, and dozens of rightfully unhappy campers bitched at the artist for posting it.
While it's perfectly understandable that admins can't be omnipotent (even though dA's admins would like us to think that), the wisest response would not be to give the art thief another Daily Deviation, especially as the artist doesn't draw anything you won't find in a low-budget, self-published American comic book, and especially when the picture chosen for a kiss-and-make-up Daily Deviation is lousy anime-fusion with a halfassed background and no sense of balance, weight or proportion.
Wiser still would be to simply apologize, or perhaps not mention the event at all, instead of getting defensive and snotty by saying "
Oops! I recently posted a deviation that was a copy from a book. Sorry to add to the flood of deviations that reference photographs or other images found throughout popular culture" and "
If it's a copy, send me rude notes!" in the new Daily Deviation description.
Guess how wise the people "watching out for us" are.
